fish

It’s a fish.
I can see it.
Light, but vibrant azure scales
Glisten as it swings
Transforming water into air,
Nourishing itself with ease
At times, it lets the water lead
Letting the universe guide it where it will
Allowing murky depths to pass,
And blessings to come forth
Other times, it confronts the current
With freedom and resilience
Claiming what is its right
Loving the journey, learning through it
Sometimes, it’s singular
Proudly flaunting its scales
Its beauty innate in its knowing
Calling all water it’s home
Sometimes, it’s a school
Swimming in tandem, in joy
Each one strengthening the other
Nestled together in their cove
It belongs to the world,
And the world belongs to it.
